Molly Byrd, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker for the School and Community Programs team at the Child Mind Institute. She received her master’s degree in social work from New York University with a focus on clinical services and integrated behavioral healthcare for youth. She has extensive experience providing trauma-informed care and creating healing spaces in a wide range of community-based settings, including schools, residential facilities and court-based programs. Ms. Byrd has a background in crisis intervention and management, and she is well-versed in CBT, tf-CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
Ms. Byrd has a special interest in helping youth and adolescents who have experienced trauma, and she has worked with individuals with a wide range of diagnoses, including PTSD, depression, anxiety disorders and behavior disorders. Her prior experience includes wraparound support with youth and families, school-based counseling and oversight of social work services at a community center in Brooklyn. She is committed to increasing access to mental health services through meeting clients where they are, both literally and figuratively, in order to remove as many barriers to care as possible.
