Naomi Gofine is a clinical social worker on the School and Community Programs team at the Child Mind Institute. Ms. Gofine earned her master’s degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, where she focused on clinical work with individuals, families and groups. Ms. Gofine has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and families and treating anxiety, mood and behavior disorders. Ms. Gofine is interested in the ways in which systemic stressors interact with mental health disorders, and she strives to use a culturally sensitive, anti-oppressive lens in her practice.

Ms. Gofine previously served as a behavioral health clinician with ThriveNYC’s Mental Health Service Corps. In that role she provided individual and group psychotherapy and received training in evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and parent management training. She is certified in structured psychotherapy for adolescents responding to chronic stress (SPARCS), a trauma-informed group intervention. Ms. Gofine has also worked at a community-based mental health agency in Toronto, Ontario as a child and family therapist.

Ms. Gofine applies her clinical background to her work with the Mood Service team, providing DBT skills groups for adolescents and preventative mental health workshops for youth. She also facilitates training workshops for caregivers and teachers. Ms. Gofine values the opportunity to partner with the New York City school system and expand access to mental health care and education.
