Peter Nasir

As a Palestinian-American leader in international development, nonprofit governance, and social entrepreneurship, Peter Kameel Nasir has more than two decades of experience advancing community well-being, youth empowerment, and institutional transformation. Nasir currently serves as the general secretary of the East Jerusalem YMCA, one of Palestine’s oldest and most influential civil society institutions. Nasir also leads the Community Wellbeing Pillar of YMCA Vision 2030 within the World Alliance of YMCAs, helping shape global strategies for community wellbeing across more than 120 countries. He also serves as the secretary of the Board of the Princess Basma Foundation in Jerusalem.

Nasir has previously served on the Board of Trustees of Al-Quds Open University, as president of the East Jerusalem Rotary Club, and a member of the Executive Committee of the World Alliance of YMCAs. In addition to his nonprofit and governance work, he founded successful hospitality and investment ventures in Palestine, combining entrepreneurship with cultural preservation and social impact.

Known for his strategic vision, cross-cultural leadership, and commitment to human dignity, Nasir continues to build bridges between local communities and global platforms in pursuit of a more just, inclusive, and resilient society. He holds an Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Emory University.
