Tanvi Bahuguna, PsyD, is a psychologist in the Mood Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. Dr. Bahuguna specializes in providing psychotherapeutic evidence-based interventions to address mood, anxiety, neurodevelopmental, and trauma-related disorders. She also conducts comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments. She is a nationally certified treatment provider of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) services for youth and their families.
Dr. Bahuguna has extensive experience in providing culturally relevant cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), parent management training (PMT), functional family therapy (FFT), dyadic therapy, play therapy, and somatic-based approaches. She incorporates strengths-based and mindfulness-based therapeutic approaches into her work and teaches these skills to her patients. Additionally, she is certified to conduct psychotherapy sessions in Hindi via Berlitz Corporation.
Dr. Bahuguna develops personalized and culturally sensitive treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and strengths of each patient and their family, inviting open discussions and collaborative problem-solving regarding the nature of treatment.
Dr. Bahuguna believes it is a brave act to explore one’s emotions and moods in depth with another person, and she openly encourages and celebrates this vulnerability in sessions with her patients.
