Contact
Tanvi Bahuguna, PsyD, is a psychologist in the Mood Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She specializes in providing psychotherapeutic interventions to address mood, anxiety, behavioral, and trauma-related disorders, as well as conducting comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments.
Dr. Bahuguna has been trained in providing trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (tf-CBT) services for youth and their families. In her pre-doctoral internship, she was individually supervised by Anthony P. Mannarino, PhD, and participated in a group consultation facilitated by Judith A. Cohen, MD (developers of the tf-CBT model). She also has extensive experience in providing culturally relevant cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Additionally, Dr. Bahuguna is skilled at identifying and building on a child’s innate sense of resilience and overall strengths. She incorporates strengths-based and mindfulness-based therapeutic approaches into her work and teaches these skills to her clients.
Dr. Bahuguna develops personalized and culturally sensitive treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and strengths of each client and their family, and she always invites open discussions and collaborative problem-solving regarding the nature of treatment. Dr. Bahuguna believes it is a brave act to explore one’s emotions and moods in depth with another person, and she openly encourages and celebrates this vulnerability in sessions with her clients.
