Theresa Welles, PhD, is the Shapiro Family Director of the Bubrick Center for Pediatric OCD at the Child Mind Institute. A licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience evaluating and treating childhood conditions, she specializes in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma and stressor-related disorders, anxiety, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Dr. Welles is certified by PSYPACT® (The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) approved to offer Telepsychology to all PSYPACT® states (click here to see if your state is included).

Dr. Welles has worked with children, adolescents, and adults across outpatient, school, medical, and private practice settings. She is committed to using evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure-based therapies (exposure/response prevention and prolonged exposure), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), supportive parenting for anxious childhood emotions (SPACE), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), to promote the best outcomes. She helps clients face fears; strengthen their interpersonal, emotion regulation, reasoning, and problem-solving skills; and increase independence and self-confidence. 

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Welles has been actively involved in leadership and advocacy roles. She is dedicated to supporting the success of future professionals in the field of psychology and has coordinated training and supervision programs at several universities, most recently at Pennsylvania State University.
