Tyner Gordon, PhD, is an associate neuropsychologist in the Gund Learning and Diagnostic Center at the Child Mind Institute. Dr. Gordon has nearly two decades of experience working with children, families, and educators, and specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessment across the lifespan. She is particularly interested in the intersection of cognitive, emotional, cultural, and pedagogical factors in learning and development and brings a unique background as both a psychologist and an educator to her clinical work.
Dr. Gordon has extensive experience supporting children and adolescents with learning, attention, and executive functioning challenges. She is dedicated to demystifying the assessment process, ensuring that families understand their child’s strengths and challenges, and providing clear, actionable recommendations. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, cultural responsiveness, and the use of evidence-based strategies to foster resilience and confidence in young people and their families.
Before joining the Child Mind Institute, Dr. Gordon spent 17 years as a head classroom teacher and administrator in New York City independent and public schools. She also provided educational consulting, pediatric executive functioning coaching, and cognitive remediation to support diverse learners. She has presented on topics such as executive functioning concepts and strategies to help children and adolescents thrive academically and emotionally.
