Dr. Yalda T. Uhls is an award-winning child psychologist and expert in how media affects children. Her book, Media Moms and Digital Dads distills academic research focused on the impact of technology on children and breaks down the issues to make them actionable for parents. Dr. Uhls works with UCLA conducting research (which has been featured in media outlets such as the NY Times and NPR) and teaching. She also works part time with the national non-profit Common Sense Media. In her former career, she was a movie executive at MGM and Sony.

Dr. Uhls expertise in how media content is created and the science of how media affect children informs her unique perspective. Most importantly, she is a mom of two digital teens.
