Celebrating its 10th year, the Child Mind Institute’s ADHD Summer Program reached new heights in July—serving a record 65 children from across the country and around the world, including families from Missouri, California, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Turkey. The four-week intensive program helps children ages 5–10 build confidence, strengthen self-regulation skills, and develop the capabilities to succeed in school and everyday life. Designed for families seeking specialized care for ADHD and related challenges, the program provides a structured, supportive environment where children can thrive while parents gain practical tools to reinforce progress at home.

ADHD Summer Program Celebrates a Record-Breaking Year

Transformative Impact

To deliver the highest level of individualized care, 92 multidisciplinary staff members completed nine days of immersive training before the summer session. Their expertise and preparation made it possible to provide every child with personalized attention through an exceptional 1:1 child-to-staff ratio, a hallmark of the program’s success. Toys“R”Us® and Macy’s sponsored the program’s prize store, where children’s daily achievements and successes were recognized and celebrated.

Parents shared the transformative impact of the program:

  • “After a very exhausting and negative 4th grade school year, it was a breath of fresh air to finally hear positive feedback about my 9-year-old son! It was reassuring to know that in the right environment, my son CAN succeed with learning, making friends, and following directions!”
  • “Wow. He is so proud of the awards and levels. I think it’s really helping motivate him!”
  • “There is no greater investment than the time devoted to these kids, and it takes very special individuals to continuously muster to that challenge. We are very lucky to have all of you.”
Summer Program

The program culminated in a joyful graduation ceremony and carnival celebration, generously sponsored by Morgan Stanley, where we recognized each child’s hard work, growth, and achievements. As a leader in ADHD evaluation and treatment, the Child Mind Institute combines evidence-based expertise with compassionate care to help children reach their full potential.

Advancing Research, Improving Care

Over 40 percent of participants are also enrolled in an innovative actigraphy research study, wearing GENEActiv devices that track physical activity and sleep throughout the program. This is a collaboration between our clinical and research teams to deepen our understanding of ADHD-related behavioral patterns and the importance of sleep in our patients.
