Simone Biles, Naomi Osaka and yes, Britney Spears, call attention to mental health struggles women face

Jill Emanuele senior director of the Mood Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute, says that Spears may be joining her peers in getting caught up in the conversation about mental health, but it’s hard to compare her situation to that of Osaka or Biles.

The latter, a trailblazer in international sports who is expected to regularly challenge the laws of physics, is experiencing a “tremendous” deal of pressure “few people have ever felt before,” Emanuele said.
