College Success Program

COLLEGE COACHING
Students enrolled in the College Success Coaching Program will meet with their Child Mind Institute coach once weekly via Skype (or FaceTime) during the semester.

COLLEGE SUCCESS WORKSHOPS
Families enrolled in the College Coaching Program will attend special workshops prior to the start of the semester. Workshops are provided free of charge to participants in our College Coaching program. The workshops may be attended on a fee basis by families not enrolled in college coaching.
Students will learn about establishing efficient studying and organizational systems, managing class schedules, how to prepare for long-term assignments and exams and how to anticipate and deal with roadblocks. Parents will learn how to effectively monitor and encourage student performance and well-being.

Students will receive guidance specific to the college or university they will attend including a review of course syllabi and campus resources. Students will receive customized guidelines and tips to take to school with them. Workshop topics include the following:
  • How to set up an efficient studying and organizational system
  • How to advocate for oneself with professors, learning center, accessibility office
  • How to establish productive relationships with peers and faculty members
  • How to prepare for long-term assignments, projects, exams
  • How to spot and address roadblocks (course selection, social pressure, time allocation)
The evening program for parents will include a discussion about student independence and resiliency, how best to monitor student performance and well-being, guidance on when and how to intervene and coaching on how parents can best handle roadblocks and setbacks.
Fees
$500 for the (combined) student and parent workshops
$2500 per semester for the College Coaching Program
Space is limited. Payment must be received in full to reserve a place in each workshop. Enrollment is on a first-registered, first-served basis.
Cancellation Policy
If a child cannot attend and we are notified at least 30 days prior to the start date of the program we will issue a refund, excluding a $100 non-refundable deposit for administrative fees. At the time of registration, full payment is required to reserve a space. If less than 30 days notification is given, no refund will be provided.
