The College Success Program consists of preparatory workshops and ongoing coaching designed to maximize success for college-bound students. Students benefit from individualized focus on organizational strategies, study skills, self-advocacy and problem-solving, including preparation specific to their course load, campus living situation and college support resources.

The Child Mind Institute College Success Program benefits adolescents and young adults who are either about to embark on the college journey for the first time or had some difficulty with navigating the process during their initial attempt. The program includes a full day workshop for students and a 2-hour parent workshop. Students participating in this program will benefit from lessons and support that focus on organizational strategies, study skills, self-advocacy and problem-solving.

Students will receive guidance specific to the college or university they will attend including a review of course syllabi and campus resources. Students will receive customized guidelines and tips to take to school with them. Workshop topics include the following:

  • How to set up an efficient studying and organizational system
  • How to advocate for oneself with professors, learning center,
    accessibility office
  • How to establish productive relationships with peers and faculty
  • How to prepare for long-term assignments, projects, exams
  • How to spot and address roadblocks (course selection, social pressure,
    time allocation)

The evening program for parents will include a discussion about student independence and resiliency, how best to monitor student performance and well-being, guidance on when and how to intervene and coaching on how parents can best handle roadblocks and setbacks.

Students enrolled in the College Success Workshop may also be enrolled in the College Coaching Program. Coaches help students maintain and enhance their organization, self-advocacy, and problem-solving skills. Students and their coaches communicate via Skype or FaceTime once per week for 45 minutes to review coursework and help students maintain problem-solving and self-awareness skills.


  • $750 for the student and parent workshops
  • $2500 per semester for the College Coaching Program

Space is limited. Payment must be received in full to reserve a place in each workshop. Enrollment is on a first-registered, first-served basis.

Cancellation Policy
If a child cannot attend and we are notified at least 30 days prior to the start date of the program we will issue a refund, excluding a $300 non-refundable deposit for administrative fees. At the time of registration, full payment is required to reserve a space. If less than 30 days notification is given, no refund will be provided.
