The Child Mind Institute’s Youth Mental Health Academy (YMHA) supports highly talented students from structurally marginalized communities by giving them paid internships in mental health-related workplaces.

The Youth Mental Health Academy is designed to cultivate the next generation of diverse mental health professionals, but we can’t do it alone. We need people like you — successful career professionals — to provide internships for students next summer.

We’re looking for opportunities for groups of five students to learn about the mental health field through direct work experiences in mental health-related research, clinical practice, community outreach, or communications organizations. Internships will run for approximately 100 hours over five to seven weeks during the summer of 2025. If taking on a group of five students doesn’t work for your organization but you’re interested in hosting internships for a smaller number of students, please indicate that in the questionnaire below.
