How It Works

Mentors will meet with their group of students on assigned days during the first summer to assist as they complete their capstone project. As a role model, mentors will be responsible for cultivating a positive, inclusive atmosphere and for building their mentees’ confidence in achieving academic goals, navigating college applications, and exploring careers.

Mentors will have monthly virtual check-ins during the school year to assist students in making informed academic and career decisions, maintain relationships, and provide continued motivation.

Mentors will receive support and guidance from the Youth Mental Health Academy staff throughout the program.
