David Shapiro

David Shapiro has served on the board of the Child Mind Institute since 2014 and currently serves as secretary. He is also a member of the Executive Committee, the Technology and Innovation Committee, and the Audit Committee. Shapiro is the co-founder and managing partner of KPS Capital Partners, LP, a private equity firm with more than $20 billion in assets under management. He currently serves on the boards of 15 KPS portfolio companies. Before founding KPS in 1997, Shapiro and his partners led a restructuring advisory firm. In addition to his work with the Child Mind Institute, Shapiro serves on the board of The Doe Fund and is chair of the board of Social Media Productions, Inc. He earned a BA in history from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He lives in New York City with his wife, Abigail Pogrebin, and their two adult children, who also live in New York City.
