Ellen Katz
Ellen Katz has served on the board of the Child Mind Institute since 2011. A dedicated collector of contemporary art, she is deeply committed to supporting the arts as an honorary trustee and former chair of the Phoenix Art Museum, as well as an honorary director of Lincoln Center Theater. Katz is also a Life Trustee of her alma mater, Northwestern University, where she previously served as co-chair of the New York Regional Campaign Committee. Her philanthropic leadership extends to health and science initiatives, including serving as a trustee and board secretary of the Barrow Neurological Foundation and as an emeritus trustee of the Mount Sinai Health System. Katz and her late husband, Howard, a former founding board member of the Child Mind Institute, were longtime supporters of Arizona State University, where they chaired the President’s Council, Honor Health, and the Arizona Science Center. Katz earned a BA in art history from Northwestern University. She has two grown children, one of whom, Zibby Owens, proudly serves alongside her on the board of the Child Mind Institute.
