Katie Charles, PsyD
Katie Charles, PsyD, is an associate neuropsychologist in the Gund Learning and Development Center at the Child Mind Institute. Dr. Charles’s clinical training has focused on neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessment, therapy, and consultation for children, adolescents, and families with concerns related to learning, attention, executive functioning, anxiety, mood, social development, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Charles approaches care with an emphasis on understanding the whole child, including cognitive strengths, emotional needs, family relationships, school context, and day-to-day functioning. She has received training in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, play therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. She has worked with youth across outpatient clinics, hospital-based programs, schools, and intensive day treatment settings, helping families translate assessment findings and treatment goals into practical next steps.
Dr. Charles’s research and clinical interests also reflect a strong focus on early childhood, attachment, parenting support, and family-centered interventions. At the Child Mind Institute, she is especially interested in helping children and families better understand learning and developmental profiles, build coping and self-regulation skills, and access supports that promote confidence at home, in school, and in relationships.
