Phyllis Green
A lifelong New Yorker, Phyllis Green has been a board member of the Child Mind Institute since its inception alongside her husband, Randy Cōwen. A teacher for many years with the New York City Board of Education, Green worked primarily with children with severe reading disabilities. She also spent several years teaching kindergarten and first grade, and training other teachers. She and her husband endowed the Phyllis Green and Randolph Cōwen Scholar, currently held by Michael P. Milham, MD, PhD. Previously, she was on the board of the Child Study Center at NYU, where she and her husband endowed the Phyllis Green and Randolph Cōwen Institute for Pediatric Neurological Research. Her first love is music: She plays piano and guitar, and every summer, she attends Blues Camp in Elkins, West Virginia. Green has two children.
