Queenie Lam, PhD, is an associate neuropsychologist in the Gund Learning and Diagnostic Center at the Child Mind Institute. Dr. Lam is passionate about providing comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and working with families, schools, and professionals to support individuals in achieving their greatest potential.
Throughout their clinical training, Dr. Lam has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient hospital settings, university counseling centers, community practices, and homes. Across these diverse settings, Dr. Lam has emphasized the importance of providing client-centered care and viewing an individual’s concerns in the context of cultural, community, and systemic factors.
Dr. Lam believes in using comprehensive assessment methods to understand the breadth of an individual’s cognitive profile and providing recommendations that foster strengths and scaffold challenges. Working collaboratively with individuals and their families, Dr. Lam is passionate about advocating for services that an individual may need to perform on par with their peers, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
Dr. Lam also has experience providing individual and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Using interventions from psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dr. Lam adopts individualized approaches for each client to support their treatment goals.
