Rohn Nahmias, DO
Contact
Rohn Nahmias, DO, is a child and adolescent psychiatrist in the Psychopharmacology Center at the Child Mind Institute’s San Mateo office. He specializes in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a multitude of mental health disorders, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma/post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), attention-deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and the behavioral symptoms that can accompany them.
Dr. Nahmias is trained in a variety of psychiatric settings, at all different levels of care, giving him an informed perspective on creative and evidence-based mental health treatment. By blending psychopharmacological and skills-based therapeutic principles (i.e., cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral management/activation, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)), Dr. Nahmias addresses each of the biological, psychological, and social factors contributing to the issues the child is facing. He spends time finding the root of the presenting concern to allow for short and long-term improvement of symptoms.
Dr. Nahmias works with a caring, collaborative team, focusing on the child and guiding families to a better understanding of mental health’s contribution to daily challenges. He encourages participation from child and caregivers for sustained progress.
