March 23, 2020

NEW YORK, NY  – The Child Mind Institute today announced that Mimi Corcoran, a respected nonprofit executive and advocate for children, has been named the organization’s new executive director. In this role, she will help shape and guide the organization’s fundraising efforts, partnership strategy, and overall institutional strategy.

Corcoran brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience to her position at the Child Mind Institute, much of it focused on improving the lives of children and expanding their opportunity for success. This includes roles as director of the Special Fund for Poverty Alleviation at George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, president and CEO of the National Center for Learning Disabilities, and executive director of the Beginning with Children Foundation.

Mimi is a tremendously effective leader, and we are excited by the knowledge and passion that she is going to bring to advancing our mission,” said Child Mind Institute Founding President and Medical Director Harold S. Koplewicz, MD. “This is an exciting time of growth and opportunity for the Child Mind Institute, and Mimi is the ideal person to help lead us forward.”

“The Child Mind Institute is driving the national conversation on children’s mental health and learning disorders, conducting impactful research, and providing world-class care that is changing the trajectory of many young lives,” said Corcoran. “I can’t think of a more exciting opportunity than to help this great organization continue to expand its mission and deepen its impact.”
