What Is Intensive Behavior Treatment?

Intensive Behavior Treatment is a highly specialized behavioral treatment option for children with severe symptoms or families traveling long distances for treatment. Depending on the need, children and their parents are seen for several hours a day, several days a week, allowing intensive treatment to have a big impact in a short period of time.

About Our Intensive Behavior Treatment

Every child receives a diagnostic intake evaluation before treatment. Following treatment, families receive a transition plan for ongoing care and referrals, when needed.

About Our Intensive Behavior Treatment

Our intensive program compresses a large portion of treatment typically done on a weekly basis into a 1–2 week period. Our clinicians spend up to four hours a day with parents, teaching skills and providing live coaching. During treatment, clinicians work with families in the office and accompany them during everyday activities, such as meals, shopping, or visits to the park, providing practical instruction in the moments families need it most.

Services may be appropriate for:

  • Children with severe behavioral symptoms
  • Families traveling long distances for treatment
  • Families seeking several hours of treatment over a 1–2 week period
Multidisciplinary Treatment

Additional evaluations such as neuropsychological testing, psychiatric consultation, or a consultation with additional specialists may be available as appropriate.

Children who have co-occurring mental health or learning issues can also participate in testing or treatment to address their multiple needs during this program.
