FOR CAREGIVERS
Summer Program to Help Build Confidence
Kids who struggle with behavior can feel like they are frequently being corrected and criticized. This impacts their self-esteem and can diminish their view of academics and learning. To address this issue, we’ve developed our Summer Program, a four-week summer treatment for children who have ADHD or who need help with behavioral, learning, and social issues. Children will build confidence and benefit from a high level of support and counselor expertise as they work on goals including:
- Developing and maintaining positive peer relationships
- Improving emotional awareness and regulation
- Jump-starting academic progress or maintaining school-year gains
FOR EDUCATORS
Breaking the Behavior Code
About 10 percent of the school population — 9 to 13 million children — struggle with mental health problems. And in a typical class of 20, there is a good chance that one or two students are dealing with serious psychosocial stressors relating to a range of issues including trauma or a psychiatric disorder. These children can exhibit challenging behaviors in the classroom. To address these behaviors, teachers need to understand what is driving them and develop strategies to intervene effectively before they become entrenched.
