Autism Symposium
Reflections on the Progress of Science & Care
Catherine Lord, PhD presented the event keynote, Looking Back in Order to Move Forward: Autism From 2 to 32 Years.
Dr. Lord is renowned for co-developing the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS and ADOS-2) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI and ADI-R), which together are considered “the gold standard” for the diagnosis of ASD. Her research and clinical work are aimed at improving methods of identifying strengths and difficulties in individuals with possible ASD and working with families and individuals to maximize independence and well-being for all concerned.
About This Event
The Autism Symposium was a free interdisciplinary program to discuss the progress of research and care for individuals with autism. This hybrid event was held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 9 am – 12 pm, with limited in-person seating.
The symposium featured a range of expert speakers from research, clinical care, and education. The sessions describde ways in which a range of initiatives are impacting the lives of children, teens, and young adults with autism. There was also a facilitated session to discuss educational options for young people with autism.
This event is hosted by the Autism Center at the Child Mind Institute.
