Long, who also has a new book, The Price of Silence: A Mom’s Perspective on Mental Illness, speaks with the Child Mind Institute about how proper diagnosis and treatment offer hope for an entire family. Two years after Newtown and the blog that sparked a lot of conversation, she sees a future for her son, and thinks that every family who struggles with mental illness can and should have access to life-changing care.
