Children’s Friendship Training

Need Help With Social Skills?

Children’s Friendship Training (CFT) is a 12-week evidence-based telehealth social skills program for elementary school children who experience difficulties making or keeping friends. During each group session, children are taught important social skills and are given the opportunity to practice these skills during socialization activities. Parents attend separate sessions and are taught how to assist their children in making and keeping friends.


This program is for children in grades 4 & 5 (ages 9-11) who have:

  • Social/behavioral challenges
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • ADHD
  • Social pragmatic communication disorder

Parent participation is required.


  • Learn to play cooperatively with others
  • Learn to appropriately use electronic communication
  • Learn to find common interests and talk with peers
  • Learn to handle teasing and resolve disagreements


  • Mondays
  • 4:00–5:30 pm, Child Group
  • 12:30–1:30 pm, Parent Group
  • January 31–April 18, 2022


  • Virtual telehealth program

Space is limited.

Additional Information

A pre-screening with an assessment for group readiness will occur before admission into the group is confirmed. A minimum of 6 participants is required. The group is capped at 8 participants.
