Temperamental styles are inclinations, not set in stone
Clinical Expert: Daniel Klein, Psy.D
Psychologist Dan Klein, PhD, of Stony Brook University explains different ways or “models” of describing temperament in kids–what we tend to call personality in adults. As he puts it, temperament is an “inclination or propensity to experience the world in certain ways, and behave in certain ways.” There are relationships between temperament styles and certain psychological problems, Klein says, but temperament by no means guarantees an outcome.
