The Care Journey

Financial Aid &
Insurance Resources

At the Child Mind Institute, we are here to support you and your family in accessing the high-quality care you deserve.

About Our Resources

We understand that navigating mental health and learning challenges can feel overwhelming, both emotionally and financially. That’s why we offer various services designed to make the process easier, ensuring that every family has the opportunity to receive the care and support they need.

Financial Aid Fund

Financial Aid Fund

At the Child Mind Institute, we believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive — and every family should have access to expert, compassionate care.

To help make this possible, our Financial Aid Fund provides assistance to families facing financial barriers. Since launching in March 2011, the fund has awarded over $9.1 million in aid, enabling more than 2,440 children to receive life-changing treatment at the Child Mind Institute.

Cares Fund

Cares Fund

For families who need to travel to access our care, the Cares Fund helps defray the cost of travel and lodging. Established in 2013 by former board member Lisa Domenico Brooke, this fund was created to make our care more accessible to families living outside of the areas where our clinics are located.

To date, the Cares Fund has distributed more than $427,000 to over 200 families from 37 states and 13 countries.

Training Institute and Clinical Trainees

Training Institute and Clinical Trainees

As a training institute, we offer families the opportunity to work with doctoral trainees and postdoctoral fellows who provide care under close supervision of a licensed clinician. These services are offered at a reduced rate and may be an excellent option for families seeking high-quality support at a more affordable cost.

Out-of-Network Reimbursement Support

As an out-of-network provider, we’re committed to helping families access the out-of-network benefits available to them. To make this process easier, we provide detailed superbills that can be submitted directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Our goal is to ensure that you feel confident and supported every step of the way.

We understand that navigating insurance can be overwhelming, which is why we’ve partnered with two trusted organizations to help guide you through the process.

Our partners can assist with:

  • Verifying your insurance benefits
  • Filing and managing claims
  • Handling pre-authorizations

By reducing the administrative burden on your family, we hope to allow you to focus on what truly matters — your child’s care.

Global Reach, Lifesaving Impact

Global Reach, Lifesaving Impact

Families from around the world seek the expert, evidence-based care offered at the Child Mind Institute. Our clinicians have treated patients from 45 countries, 49 U.S. states, and Washington, D.C.

When mental health and learning disorders go untreated in childhood, they can lead to serious challenges later in life — including academic struggles and emotional difficulties. But when children receive the care they need early on, they gain the tools to thrive and grow into healthy, resilient adults.
