ADOS-2 Introductory Clinical Training on Modules 1-4

This is a two-day clinical training on the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2). This is an introductory workshop with instructional methods that include lectures, videos, demonstrations of administration and scoring, and discussions.

Who

  • This workshop is designed for researchers and clinicians with prior background in autism spectrum disorder and formal testing, including speech-language pathologists, physicians, psychologists, school-based autism specialists, and occupational therapists. This training is necessary for anyone planning to use the ADOS-2 in clinical or school settings. It serves as a pre-requisite for more thorough training required to obtain research reliability in order to use the ADOS-2 for research purposes.
  • Prerequisite: Bachelor’s degree or higher,  relevant work experience, and current occupational role.

What

  • The goals of this workshop are to provide a detailed overview of the ADOS-2, its development, its psychometric properties, and appropriate use and interpretation. Trainees will be provided with videos of other ADOS-2 administrations to watch after the training to supplement the workshop.
  • Continuing medical education (15 CME) credits for physicians and continuing education (15 CE) credits for psychologists and social workers are available to registered course participants. Learn more.
  • Space is limited: 30 participants maximum.
  • Light breakfast and afternoon coffee provided.

Where

  • This two-day training will be held in person at the Child Mind Insitute, 215 E 50th Street, New York, NY 10022.

When

  • March 10 and 11, 2025, 8:00am – 5:30pm ET.

Cost

  • $850 for the two-day training. 
  • To register, full payment required. Refunds accepted up to 30 days prior to 3/10/25. 
  • If upon review of your application you do not meet eligibility criteria for the training, you will be issued a full refund.  

ADOS-2 Training on the Toddler Module 

This is a one-day introductory workshop specific to the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2nd Ed. (ADOS-2) Toddler Module with instructional methods that include lectures, videos, practice with scoring, and discussions.

Who

  • This workshop is designed for educators, clinicians, and researchers with prior background in autism, early childhood development, and formal testing with toddlers, autism spectrum disorder and formal testing, including speech-language pathologists, physicians, psychologists, special education ASD specialists, and occupational therapists. 
  • Prerequisites: Bachelor’s degree or higher, relevant work experience, and current occupational role.
  • All trainees are expected to have completed formal training on modules 1-4 of the ADOS / ADOS-2, either through the 2-day ADOS-2 Introductory Training or the ADOS-2 DVD Training Package available from Western Psychological Services (WPS)®.

What

  • The goals of this workshop are to provide a detailed overview of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2nd Ed. (ADOS-2) Toddler Module with instructional methods that include lectures, videos, practice with scoring, and discussions.
  • CEUs will be provided through Northwell Health.

  • This one-day workshop will be held in person at the Child Mind Insitute, 215 E 50th Street, New York, NY 10022.

  • March 12, 2025, 8:00am – 5:30pm ET.

  • $450 for the one-day training.

These trainings assume prior experience with child assessment and differentiating autism from other neurodevelopmental conditions.
