Brett Dakin is the former Vice President and General Counsel of the Child Mind Institute. Brett provides legal advice and strategic guidance to the executive leadership and Board of Directors on a range of issues.
Prior to joining the Child Mind Institute, Brett was Assistant General Counsel at Rainforest Alliance, where he counseled the organization’s leadership on corporate governance, intellectual property, strategic collaborations, risk management and other matters. He began his legal career at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where he specialized in corporate and intellectual property transactions and counseled clients in industries such as insurance, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and fashion. Brett has also worked at Columbia Law School, Lawyers Alliance for New York, the U.S. State Department and the United Nations, and is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
He is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Human Rights Journal.
