Jane Wong, PsyD, is an associate neuropsychologist at the Learning and Development Center at the Child Mind Institute. During her doctoral training in school psychology, Dr. Wong has accumulated experience providing neuropsychological evaluations to diverse children and youth who present with a variety of neurodevelopmental conditions, including learning disorders, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, and social-emotional conditions, such as depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, and chronic caregiver and housing instability. She has also provided evaluation for children and youth presenting with complex medical conditions, including epilepsy, cancer, and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. Dr. Wong is dedicated to understanding a child’s strengths and weaknesses in the context of their experiences and medical complexities, and providing individualized recommendations to address each child’s unique needs. Dr. Wong is a multilingual clinician who can conduct evaluations in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. She passionately advocates for culturally and linguistically diverse children and their families.

Dr. Wong also has experience in the provision of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). She has worked with children presenting with a range of socioemotional concerns. She has also received applied behavioral analysis (ABA) training and has provided group therapy for children with autism spectrum disorder. As a school psychologist, Dr. Wong provided individual and group counseling to elementary school students and led multiple push-in social-emotional learning lessons in special education classrooms. She has consulted with teachers, parents, and other mental health providers (e.g., psychiatrists, social workers, school counselors, and case managers from adoption agencies) to create and implement individualized educational and behavioral interventions.

Dr. Wong serves as the Research Chair and board member for the New York Association of School Psychologists (NYASP) and is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Bilingual Interest Group Leadership Team. She taught an undergraduate psychological measurement course at St. John’s University in Queens, NY. Dr. Wong has published original research articles in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored two book chapters on theoretical, empirical, and practical issues in assessing English language learners. Before becoming a school psychologist, Dr. Wong was a researcher/test developer based in Toronto, Canada, who had led the development of several standardized psychoeducational assessments and presented at multiple national- and state-level psychology and speech/language conferences.
