About the Student Art Project
The Child Mind Institute Student Art Project was launched to provide an opportunity for schools in the New York metropolitan area to have their students’ art work exhibited at the Child Mind Institute. We invite schools to prepare an exhibition for our gallery based on a theme chosen by one of their own art teachers. Student pieces are displayed prominently and each exhibition launches with an opening reception for student artists, their families, and the entire school community, hosted by the Child Mind Institute.
The Child Mind Institute Student Art Project is made possible through support from the Doris and Melvin Sirow Art Fund. This fund was established to honor the legacy of Doris and Melvin Sirow by ensuring that the Student Art Program can continue to give local school children the opportunity to display their artwork and create a warm an inviting environment for patients and their families.
If your child’s school would like to participate in a future gallery show, please contact Angela Gage, the Student Art Project Curator, at 212.212.308 or angela.gage@childmind.org. Art teachers are welcome to contact us on behalf of their students.
