Collage is a whimsical and playful medium. In art class, students learn to use simple shapes to create a complex form. This medium removes the pressure of being able to hand draw shapes, so students can work on arrangement and experimentation. They can make a plan, and then enjoy playing and revising before gluing. Students selected shapes to fit the proportion and design elements of their figure based on themes such as robots, buildings and animals. They embellished the form by adding facial features or details for clothing, body parts, and accessories.
