Our Legacy Society is comprised of people who include the Child Mind Institute in their estate or retirement plans. These commitments offer significant tax advantages and are changeable at any time. We are happy to recognize and celebrate the generous individuals who make these meaningful commitments. Their support will secure the future of our work to transform the lives of children struggling with mental health and learning disorders.
Some people may be interested in making significant gifts to the Child Mind Institute but hesitate in an effort to preserve capital and ensure financial security for themselves and their families.
With a revocable estate gift, your money is available if you need it, and you can still declare your intention to support the organization and be a part of a publicly recognized legacy society. You can do this by deferring your gift until the end of your life and making it through a charitable bequest in your will or as a beneficiary in your retirement plan.
Making a legacy commitment allows you to know that the causes and principles you care about will carry forward, while helping to simplify planning and decision-making for your loved ones. This process can also offer tax advantages for your estate.
Please let us know that you have or intend to include the Child Mind Institute in a planned gift, and we will be happy to enroll you in the Legacy Society. Members of the society are recognized for their foresight, vision, and generosity.
A direct bequest is simple and one of the most popular ways to make a future gift. A bequest is made by stating in your will that some amount of money, particular property, or part of your estate be gifted to the Child Mind Institute. There are many ways to make a bequest gift so that it can fit easily within your other estate provisions:
An estate attorney is a useful resource in these matters. Typical bequest language in a will looks like: “I hereby give, devise and bequeath [insert gift] to Child Mind Institute, Inc., Federal EIN 80-0478843, with an address at 101 E. 56th Street, New York, NY 10022.”
To reserve gifts through a retirement account, you can simply log in to your account or contact your account administrator to make the Child Mind Institute one of your beneficiaries.
