Clare Beatty
Clare Beatty is a psychology extern in the Mood Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. She is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program at Stony Brook University. Her doctoral research focuses on understanding the neurobiological risk factors for anxiety and depression in adolescents.
Prior to joining the Child Mind Institute, Clare served as a student clinician at the Krasner Psychological Center at Stony Brook University, where she specialized in obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Clare has experience providing therapy and assessments to children, adolescents, and young adults with a range of presenting mental health issues, including depression, anxiety-related disorders, disordered eating, externalizing behavior problems, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She has received training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).
Clare adopts a warm, open, and patient-centered approach when communicating with her patients. She makes sure to tailor therapy to their needs.
