On December 12, 2022, Marco Pagani, PhD, a Marie Curie Global Research Fellow at the Child Mind Institute’s Autism Center and member of the Gozzi Lab at the Italian Institute of Technology, was awarded the Trentino Research Award 2022. The Italian Province of Trentino gives this award to researchers under 40 who have carried out research of high excellence and impact. About 100 projects were submitted and Dr. Pagani’s research won the gold medal for Life Science.
The study for which Dr. Pagani was recognized was funded by the Marie Curie Action research program, and involved collaboration between the Child Mind Institute and the Gozzi Lab. The Child Mind institute offered expertise in clinical autism and human fMRI, while the Gozzi Lab provided expertise in rodent fMRI.
The study also received some attention recently in Spectrum News, one of the premier publications featuring articles on autism spectrum disorder.
“From health protection to the fight against climate change, the results of their studies touch our lives. And, thanks to a language that is not strictly specialized, they manage to bring citizens closer to the world of research.“
Achille Spinelli, Trentino
The Trentino Research Award 2022 ceremony was held at MUSE − Science Museum of Trento. The ceremony was moderated by Nicola Doppio of the Trentino Innovation Hub. Representatives of many provincial research and innovation institutions were in attendance.
According to one such representative, Achille Spinelli, the provincial counselor for economic research and development in Trentino, “From health protection to the fight against climate change, the results of their studies touch our lives. And, thanks to a language that is not strictly specialized, they manage to bring citizens closer to the world of research.”
Thanks to Dr. Pagani and other researchers’ efforts, the world of research is being made more accessible. You can learn more about the findings of Dr. Pagani’s award-winning research by reading our recent blog post.
