About the Program

The School Refusal Parent Training and Consultation program provides support for caregivers with children and teens who are refusing to go to school or exhibiting school avoidance behaviors — such as frequent complaints of illness or avoiding homework — due to anxiety. Participants will learn about the underlying causes that contribute to their child’s anxious thoughts and feelings around going to school. They will also learn evidence-based strategies to help their child using a gradual, supportive, and collaborative approach.
