Painful emotions are part of being human, and learning how to respond to them in healthy and sustainable ways is one of the most important lessons a child can learn.
Since children often pick up behavior patterns from their parents, the best way to teach them healthy coping skills is by example. It may seem selfish to focus on your own feelings, but one of the best ways to take care of your kid is to make sure you’re taking care of yourself, too.
If you find that your child needs additional help or support, we are here for you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us today.
Most fears are a normal, natural part of childhood. However, if a child is afraid all the time, or has fears that stop them from having fun or interfere with their daily life, this could be a sign of anxiety, and it may be time to get some professional help.
At the Child Mind Institute’s Anxiety Disorders Center, we specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of anxiety disorders. Our team of experienced psychologists and social workers offer evidence-based anxiety treatment and are skilled at helping even the most challenging cases.
Mental health and learning disorders can make school hard for kids. Students may exhibit challenging behaviors or worry about everything from speaking up in class to feeling like their work has to be perfect.
If you need support, the Child Mind Institute is known nationally for its evidence-based treatments and ability to treat complex cases. We respect your ongoing relationships and value the opportunity to collaborate with you. We also would be happy to set up a meeting with your school or invite you to our professional events.
