The Child Mind Institute’s Mood Disorders Center offers tailored treatment services children and teens at our New York, NY and San Mateo, CA offices.

Children and young adults struggling with mood disorders can experience symptoms including persistent feelings of sadness, irritability or explosive anger, and impulsive decision-making, which can be debilitating and disruptive to their lives as well as to the functioning of their families. Leaving these disorders untreated can lead to unnecessary suffering and lifelong mental health struggles.

The Child Mind Institute’s Mood Disorders Center offers cutting edge, tailored treatment services for children and adolescents suffering from mood disorders and related concerns.

Conditions We Treat

Our psychiatrists diagnose and treat the full range of mood disorders. We often help families who have struggled to find effective treatment in the past. We treat:

Medication & Clinical Expertise

Our multidisciplinary team of clinical psychologists, board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, and neuropsychologists are experts in the most current assessment and treatment approaches. When medication may be helpful, our team works with board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists at the Child Mind Institute or partners with your own physician. Our psychiatrists offer expert consultation on whether medication can improve treatment outcome, and provide ongoing medication management when needed.
